On May 4, the National Science Foundation announced seven new AI Institutes. These are in addition to the previous 18 announced in 2020 and 2021, respectively. Each institute and its unique area of focus (at the intersection of AI and critical areas of national economic and societal priorities) is explained in detail below. These are predominately funded by the NSF and USDA-NIFA.
