US NSF Director and Senate Majority Leader Launch National AI Institute at UB

On April 2, U.S. National Science Foundation Director Sethuraman Panchanathan and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer visited the University at Buffalo for the launch of the National AI Institute for Exceptional Education.

The National AI Institute for Exceptional Education is a collaborative effort launched by the National Science Foundation and the Institute of Education Sciences of the US Department of Education. This Institute is led by researchers at the University at Buffalo and 8 other colleges and universities to revolutionize education for children facing speech and language processing challenges using advanced AI techniques. Researchers at the AI Institute for Exceptional Education are also working to support Speech and Language Pathologists in scaling their availability and services.
